2025 McDonald's Townsville Running Festival

I'm Running for Sick Kids!

Please support me as I run for sick kids and their families in this year's McDonald’s Townsville Running Festival and raise much-needed funds for Ronald McDonald House North Australia. Every dollar you donate will stay local and directly support North Australian families when they need it most.

Over 11,000 children were supported across RMHC North Australia’s 5 care programs in the last year, providing holistic care and support for families with seriously ill and injured children.

The run will be tough, but the challenges I will experience do not compare to the challenges that seriously ill children and their families go through every day. With your support, together we'll help make sure these challenges are just that little bit easier. Thank you for your support!

$37 will provide a family of four with a nutritious, home-cooked meal following a long day at the hospital.

$60 covers the cost of a 1-hour, one-on-one tutoring session with a qualified teacher for a child who has missed school due to an injury or illness.

$160 covers the cost of a nights' accommodation for a family staying at our Ronald McDonald House.

My Updates

More Than a Marathon

Thursday 23rd Jul

Next weekend I’ll stand on the start line of the Townsville Running Festival Marathon with one goal in mind—to run a personal best.

But this race is about so much more than a time on a watch.

Running has become a huge part of my life. It challenges me physically, strengthens me mentally, and reminds me every day that the biggest achievements come from consistency, resilience, and simply refusing to give up.

Every early morning run, every long training session, and every kilometre has led me to this moment. I’m excited to see what I’m capable of and, hopefully, achieve a new personal best.

As important as that goal is, this marathon has an even greater purpose.

My wife, Kylie, and I have spent many years fundraising for a number of charities that support sick children and their families. Giving back has always been something we’re passionate about, and we’ve seen how important these organisations are in providing care, comfort, and hope during some of life’s toughest moments.

Now, as parents to our own son Huxley, that passion to help families and children facing unimaginable challenges has grown even stronger. Becoming parents has given us an even greater appreciation for the importance of keeping families together during difficult times, and it’s a reminder that not every family gets the healthy, carefree journey they hope for.

That’s why this marathon means so much to me. This year, I’m proud to be raising funds for Ronald McDonald House, helping them continue to provide a home away from home for families while their children receive vital medical care.

My goal is to run 42.2 kilometres in under 3 hours—a challenge I’ve trained incredibly hard for. To match that goal, I’d love to raise $300 for Ronald McDonald House. It’s a simple goal with a big impact, and every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer.

If you’d like to support this cause, I’d be incredibly grateful for a donation. Every dollar helps Ronald McDonald House continue providing comfort, accommodation, and support to families when they need it most.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my training, encouraged me along the way, and donated to this amazing cause. Your generosity means more than you know.

Next weekend, I’ll be chasing a personal best—but more importantly, I’ll be running for something far bigger than myself.

42.2 kilometres. 3 hours. $300. One incredible cause.

Every step is for the families who need it most.
