About the event
Are you ready for the heart pumping action of Don River Dash 300? Over 2 massive days, cars, bikes and trophy trucks will race the Don River bed over rugged terrain and jumps to complete a 300km course in Bowen, top of the Whitsundays.
Why are we fundraising?
In Bowen, we understand the challenges faced by families with sick children. As a small town with a rural hospital, our residents often need to travel significant distances to access major medical services in Townsville and Mackay, both of which are approximately 2.5 hours away. This is where Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) North Australia steps in, providing a vital service and 5 support programs to make life a little easier for these families.
At the Don River Dash, we believe in supporting families and strengthening our community. Partnering with RMHC North Australia aligns with our values, ensuring that families can stay together and focus on what truly matters- supporting their children during tough times. We are proud to support RMHC North Australia and the incredible work they do for families in our region.
About the Charity
Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing vital programs for families with ill and injured children.
Our Mission
Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia opened it's state-of-the-art Ronald McDonald House adjacent to Townsville University Hospital in 2004, offering a safe place to stay for over 100 people each night. Through accommodation and support services, the charity strives to Keep Families Close when life is turned upside down due to a child's illness.
The Programs are run by a tirelessly hard-working team of staff and volunteers, aided by the generous support of donors, sponsors, corporate partners and the local community.

2023 Impact
To date, RMHC North Australia have committed to serve ill and injured children and their families in our region by continuously striving to expand our programs and provide more support.
