Kyron’s giving back!

By Brianna Woods

I'm donating my birthday to support this awesome cause

This year Kyron is donating his 3rd birthday to support this amazing organisation. So instead of gifts, I'd like to ask you to support them too with a donation.

Baby Kyron was born in Proserpine on the 27th October 2022. He soon sustained a pneumothorax (collapsed lung). Kyron was swiftly flown to the Townsville University Hospital NICU ward, where he stayed there for 9 days.

“My partner and I were fortunate enough to stay at the Ronald McDonald House,” shared Kyron’s Mum, Brianna.

“Staying at the Ronald McDonald House was like a home away from home.”

Due to being rushed to Townsville University Hospital, far from home in Bowen,

Brianna and her partner, Bayden, arrived at Ronald McDonald House Townsville with just a bag of clothes.

“[Ronald McDonald House] has food, they have a playground, they have drinks, meals. We could walk across to the hospital in 2 minutes and be with Kyron,” Brianna explained.

“My Mum also brought my 2-year-old Archie up and they stayed with us for a couple of nights as well.”

Archie loved playing in the playroom, outside in the playground and riding the scooters while at Ronald McDonald House.

“Everything was just there and we didn’t have to worry about anything but our son in hospital. We had the support we needed when we needed it the most.”

After their stay, Brianna’s Mum worked with her co-workers to put together a donation basket, which the family kindly dropped in to Ronald McDonald House when they had an appointment for Kyron in Townsville ❤️

“Thank you to everyone and the volunteers for helping families like mine. Your effort does not go unnoticed. Thank you and we appreciated it so much!”
